He pointed out that in previous years, the incidence of respiratory diseases was lower, due to preventive measures against the Corona virus, such as wearing a mask and physical distancing .

Al-Tarawneh expected that the incidence of respiratory diseases would increase in the current period and with the advent of winter in the Mediterranean basin, as a result of the temperature difference .
He stressed that the degree of infection with respiratory diseases depends on the body's immunity for each person, and determines the degree of infection with these diseases .
And the chest and respiratory diseases specialist indicated that people who suffer from chronic diseases are most susceptible to infection with viruses .
And he continued that people who suffer from a lack of sleep (who sleep less than 7 to 8 hours) have a higher rate of infection with respiratory viruses than people who get enough sleep .
He pointed out that people who do not get enough food and have little movement have low immunity .
Tarawneh called on citizens to obtain the seasonal flu vaccine to protect against infection with respiratory viruses, as the vaccine protects by 75 %.
Regarding the spread of viruses among school students, the chest and respiratory diseases specialist said that classrooms should be ventilated, not overcrowded, and the infected student isolated .
He added that students should be made aware of the spread of these viruses and ways to prevent them, and work to wash hands frequently to prevent the death of respiratory viruses .
And the National Health Authority in England warned against starting the influenza season early, calling for obtaining its vaccine.
The authority added that the latest data indicates that hospital admissions for respiratory patients are rising faster in children under the age of five, although overall levels of influenza are still at a relatively low level, which means that it is difficult to predict the size of the wave.
